Jones-Hamilton Co. Recognized for 40 Years Employee Ownership

Jones-Hamilton Co. was recognized by the Ohio Employee Ownership Center at Kent State University for 40 years of participation in an Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) during the organization’s annual meeting on April 18, 2024.

Originally established by company founders, J. Kern Hamilton and Jim Black, the ESOP now owns 99% of the company and has more than 150 participants.

“Over the last forty years, employee ownership has created a unique opportunity for employees to benefit from a financially strong company and reap the rewards into retirement,” said Jones-Hamilton President and CEO, Tim Poure.

Employee-ownership has guided the company’s strategic growth and empowered employees to make decisions for the good of the company. “The dedication, commitment, experience and knowledge of our employee owners allows us to maintain long-term customer and supplier relationships, and offer world-class products,” said Poure.

Company CAO, Kim Sosko, accepted the award on behalf of all employee owners at the 38th Annual Ohio Employee Ownership Conference held at the Akron-Fairlawn Hilton.
