Transportation and Logistic Manager

Jones-Hamilton Co. is currently seeking a full-time Transportation and Logistics Manager to join our team. This is an on-site role located in Walbridge, OH. The Transportation and Logistics Manager will be responsible for the planning and controlling of the flow of materials, products, services, and related systems information from point of origin to point of delivery.

What You’ll Do

Transportation and Logistics Manager Responsibilities:

  • The Transportation and Logistics Manager will develop and implement strategies to reduce cost, maximize efficiency and improve service for multi-modal transportation and logistics network for domestic and global clients.
  • Track product flow from origin to final delivery and apply analytic methods to understand predict or control logistics operations or processes.
  • The Transportation and Logistics Manager will interpret data on logistics elements, such as availability, maintainability, reliability, and transportation and implement improvements.
  • Negotiate transportation and logistics rates, fees, surcharges, terms and contracts.
  • The Transportation and Logistics Manager will recommend improvements to existing or planned logistics processes. Support effective and timely implementation of all logistics daily operational goals.
  • The Transportation and Logistics Manager will resolve any arising problems or complaints in a timely manner.
  • Comply with laws, regulations, and other requirements.

Who You Are

Transportation and Logistics Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, transportation, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in transportation and logistics management in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Thorough understanding of Federal (DOT), and State transportation regulations
  • Experience with interpreting data on logistics elements, such as availability, maintainability, reliability, and transportation including implementing improvements.
  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on customer service and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of transportation management software, and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • A┬ástrong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance, with experience developing and implementing safety and training programs.
