Engineer

Jones-Hamilton Co. is currently seeking a full-time Engineer to join our team. This is an on-site role located in Walbridge, OH. The Engineer’s primary responsibility is to ensure the preventative maintenance program and plant inventories of spare parts is up to date and properly managed. The Engineer will assist maintenance to work on continuous improvement and small projects for the plant processes. They will need to communicate with others and work together as a team to come to possible solutions. This position will assist the Manufacturing Engineer in the overall administration of the plant.

What You’ll Do

Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain Preventive Maintenance Activities
  • Develop Tracking systems for Bad actors and assist in developing solutions
  • Develop and Maintain Inventory System for Parts and Materials
  • Purchasing of Parts and Materials
  • Co-ordinating Sub Contractors to support Plant activities
  • Project Management for Small Capital Expenditure Projects
  • Troubleshoot new or existing production problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
  • Prepare documentation for improvement of manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.

Who You Are

Engineer Requirements:

  • Accredited bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology or working towards the degree.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% (primarily between Ohio and South Carolina).
  • Experience with AutoCAD and 3D Modeling software for plant design.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; proficient computer skills a must.
  • Must be doctor certified to wear a variety of respirators.
  • Must be able to bend and squat: climb ladders and steps: climb to the top of a railcar.
  • Must be able to work in an enclosed space: i.e., tank
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor while wearing a Level A approved suit with the contained breathing apparatus.
  • Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize work flow, interact appropriately with others.
  • Ability to adjust to meet changing conditions, work pressures and difficult situations without undue stress.
  • Ability to keep current with the rapidly changing Jones-Hamilton Co. and customer requirements.
  • Must communicate effectively with personnel at all levels: maintain a cooperative, working relationship with the office, sales and production personnel.
