WALBRIDGE, Ohio -- Jones-Hamilton Co., an employee-owned manufacturer of chemical products, announces Gene Meyer has been named Division Manager of the company’s Specialty Products Division.
Meyer’s responsibilities include sales and marketing, profit and loss, and strategic planning for the division. The Specialty Products Division provides various products to the metal cleaning, water treatment, food processing and animal feed industries.
“Gene Meyer is a veteran of the chemical industry with the experience and abilities we need to continue moving the company forward in this important segment of our business,” said Bernard Murphy, Executive Vice President, Jones-Hamilton.
Meyer is based in Birmingham, Ala. He will report to Bernie Murphy.
Meyer’s 25-year history in the chemical industry has included positions as business manager for numerous chemical products, e-business manager, technical services manager, environmental health and safety manager as well as plant superintendent. Most recently, he was responsible for developing and implementing strategy initiatives related to chlorine, hydrochloric acid and hydrogen for Vulcan Chemicals, Birmingham.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Concordia College, Seward, Nebraska, and a Master of Science in Chemistry from Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas. Meyer also has completed advanced management coursework at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business and Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
