Positions Available at the Richburg, SC facility:

MAINTENANCE MANAGER

The Maintenance Manager supervises and coordinates day-to-day activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment, systems, and physical structures of buildings and grounds.

The Maintenance Manager is also responsible for maintaining good equipment reliability through the administration of the Preventative Maintenance and Work Order system. This position plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure that objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Directs day-to-day activities of maintenance department and assigns tasks to department personnel based on production, safety, quality, and environmental priorities. Recommends the use of Contractors, where appropriate.

 

Plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated Capital Projects to ensure that objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

 

Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the Preventive Maintenance and Work Order System, including maintaining equipment files.

 

Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to ensure repairs, installation, and troubleshooting of site facilities and equipment and completed in a timely manner.

 

Reviews daily operations and loading logs for notes requiring maintenance attention.

 

Ensures critical spares are inventoried or assembled for emergency installation.

 

Responsible for the inventory control of spare parts and materials, this includes requisitions of tools, equipment, and supplies.

Routinely observes operating equipment to identify problems and necessary repairs.

Leads an interdepartmental team to complete an assigned maintenance project on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.

Outlines the tasks involved in the project and delegates accordingly.

Conducts cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.

Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific maintenance projects.

Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.

Acts as a liaison between company, and vendors on any maintenance project.

Enforces compliance with all applicable regulatory agency requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.)

Observes all scheduled safety meetings and completes all additional training required.

Enforces compliance with GMP and other Food Industry/customer requirements.

Must comply with all applicable statutory regulatory requirements including FDA, ISO and Responsible Care.

 

Essential Functions:

Must be doctor certified to wear a variety of respirators.

Must be able to bend and squat: climb ladders and steps: climb to the top of a railcar.

Must be able to work in an enclosed space: i.e. tank:

Ability to perform strenuous physical labor while wearing a Level A approved suit with the contained breathing apparatus.

Ability to keep current with the rapidly changing Jones-Hamilton Co. and customer requirements.

Must communicate effectively with personnel at all levels: maintain a cooperative, working relationship with the office, sales and production personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate Degree in Applied Science with a major in General Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office and CAD

Ability to read and write and comprehend complex technical material.

Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.

Working knowledge of on-site and off-site emergency response plans.

Must be able to pass the required 24 hours of initial OSHA HAZWOPER training and demonstrate hands-on proficiency with response skills needed in order to participate on the site’s Emergency Response Team.  Must maintain a minimum of 8 hours of applicable training each year to retain eligible status as an Emergency Response Team Member.

OSHA certification of Emergency Responder- Technician Level.

Excellent mechanical ability. Must be capable of inspecting existing handling systems and design blueprints and determine the viability of the systems. Must be able to improvise and resolve concerns/problems in the field. Must be innovative.
