Maintenance Electrician

Maintenance Electrician Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for repair, replacement, installation and service of all plant electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Plans and installs electrical equipment, draws layout of job, calculates materials needed and completes installation.
  • Installs new conduit and wiring systems.
  • Repairs, installs and troubleshoots plant equipment.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Builds spare equipment assemblies for emergency installation.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and follows safe work practices.

Maintenance Electrician Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Successfully completed courses or have experience with welding (gas, stick, wire) pipefitting, blueprint reading, carpentry, basic electricity, basic mechanics, metalworking, pneumatics.
  • Knowledge of power transmission systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of basic process instrumentation, temperature controllers, level controllers, flow meters.
  • Must be able to pass the required 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and participate on the site’s Emergency Response Team.
  • Must be doctor-certified to wear a variety of respirators or masks.
  • Ability to work in an outside environment for extended periods.
